Big changes
After ten years of working at LMD it is time for me to move on. I enjoyed my time and am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work from home while my children were small. Life is now changing and I will working full time as a Landscape designer. Following my passion and doing what I love. I am nervous but excited. Should be an interesting adventure.

Swimming for the first time
October 3rd, 2010 is Nate's first day swimming without any help. Very exciting. During the same swim class he jumped in repeatedly and went fully under water. He was very excited and proud of himself. Darren and I were both lucky enough to be there to share in Nate's excitment.

San Francisco
We just got back yesterday from a trip to San Francisco. Darren was there for work and I tagged along. I really enjoyed myself. It was the first time that I can remember that I was in a new city, touring around, exploring all by myself.
Darren and I met up for great meals and I got to meet some of his interesting work buddies. All in all a fabulous trip.

Deep breath day today.
Jade is busy at Art camp and Nate and I are spending this week of summer vacation together. He is a challenging little man with lots to learn and I believe I have lots to learn on how to parent him.
We are encouraging Nate to ride his bike, swim, and write. Those are our summer challenges or obstacles, depends on how you look at it. The problem is Nate has a habit of digging his heels in and if he does not want to do something....good luck getting him to cooperate. He is determined and strong willed....hopefully he will find a passion in his life that will be helped by those character traits. Till then I will be taking lots of deep breaths.

Memories from 2009
-Nate has turned into a little character. He definitely likes to "stir the pot" and joke around. It amazes me how he teases, bugs and cracks jokes....if it is possible for it to be hereditary than I think he got that from his Dad.
-In the summer of 2009 I caught Nathan peeing in my front garden right outside our front door. I scolded him and told Nate he must ALWAYS use the toilet. He was not very happy about this because the idea of going pee outside for him was fabulous. Later on that day he came to me with a solution. Nate asked if we could go to Home Depot and get a toilet for the front garden. That way he could still pee outside. A good problem solver for a little four year old but of course the answer was NO.
Jade had a great year and has now reached about 5 foot 8 inches in height ( 12 years old). Thankfully she has found a sport that she loves, basketball and the height is a plus. This is Jade's first year playing on a competitive team. It is a great experience. Lot's of hardwork, great coaches and great new friends. It is keeping the whole family busy. It has also provided Jade the opportunity to travel a bit with the team and without Mom and Dad. A big highlight for Jade I am sure.
